History

By the early 70s, seismic exploration works had become the main method of exploring oil and gas potential areas. The Ministry of Oil Industry of the USSR, attaching importance to the technical re-equipment of the national seismic survey, in 1973, decided to establish a specialized organization for the development and production of non-explosive seismic signals sources in Gomel, which has been operating since July 1973. In December of the following year it was reformed into the Special Design Office of seismic equipment. 38 designers, workers and employees laid the foundation for the team of the scientific and production association "Seismotekhnika", A.S. Shaginian, A.G. Asan-Jalalov, A.A. Pevnev, A.P. Androsenko, V.G. Pozniakov, P. P. Manoilenko and others stood there at the company’s origins.

In 1973 Ministry of Oil Industry of the USSR, giving crucial role to technical upgrading of national seismic survey, decided to establish in Gomel

In 1974, the number of employees was 107 people; the total area of buildings and structures was 5,000 m2. 1974 was the year of the beginning of the development of new pulsed sources of seismic signals SI-32 and hydraulic vibrating sources such as SV-10/100, which are not inferior in performance to the best foreign models.

In 1975, 14 surface sources of seismic signals SI-32 and two sources of vibrating seismic signals SV-10/100 were already manufactured.

Over the course of 12 years, the company has grown almost 10 times. The construction of the enterprise was carried out actively: in 1985, the production area was already 15,700 m2, and the enterprise had more than 197 units of technological equipment . The number of employees was 1,046 people. The structure of the company included 40 departments, laboratories, creative groups, experimental and test production. 43 topics of research and development work, 134 items of geophysical equipment, panels and spare parts were developed.

From 1976 to 1987, the Special Design Office of seismic equipment regularly presented its products at the Exhibition of National Economy Achievements of the USSR. During this time were exhibited such products as:

  • surface pulsed source of seismic signals SI-32;
  • sample of a vibrating source of seismic signals of Arctic type SVA-10/100;
  • vibrating source SV-10/100;
  • control system BUSV/GS;
  • lubricators L-210;
  • prototype SV-10/150;
  • software "Vibrotest".

Engineering

Mass production of seismic signals sources SV-10/100 began in 1980. By 1987, more than 100 SV-10/100 vibration sources were manufactured and transferred to geophysical trusts.

Since 1977, the development of the ARS-32 well repair unit has begun, the prototype of which was manufactured in 1981.

By order No. 275 dated May 31, 1988, the Special Design Office "Seismotekhnika" was transformed into a Scientific Production Association of seismic equipment with prototype production. In addition to serial vibrating sources, the company produced 134 items of various new devices, equipment and instruments for geophysicists. During this period, 113 applications for inventions were submitted, and 74 author's certificates for inventions were received. 14 applications for promotional prototypes were made, 13 certificates were received.

Further in depth development of vibrating sources continued:

  • 1987 – SV-10/180;
  • 1991 – SV-16/150, SV-10/180 MP, SVS-12/150;
  • 1992 – SV-22/150, SVP-20/80, transport base SBGSh - snow-and-swamp going base;
  • 1994 – SV-20/120, SV-16/120, Northern version of BMP, BUSV MP/GS MP;
  • 1995 – SV27/150;

In addition, various equipment was in development:

  • 1991 – lubricators L-7 / 50M, L-140/50, logging station SKS-5;
  • 1992 – complex for conducting well seismic survey KSR-5;
  • 1993 – well repair unit A-50M;
  • 1995 – unit for elimination of tacks ALP, autonomous logging hoist AKP-5500.

However, the break in economic ties between the former Soviet Union countries seriously affected the economic stability of the enterprise and the industry as a whole. The deepening economic crisis forced us to abandon narrow specialization and look for new directions of development. The inclusion of the enterprise in the state import substitution program was an invaluable help in this situation.

A number of equipment units was developed - a unit for transporting heavy solutions APTR-12 – 1998, a pumping unit block UND-1, a drilling base OB-53M – 1999, a drilling rig VB-53M, a mobile block of petroleum products, a block for cleaning drilling mud BKO, a technological platform TP-20, jet pumps of the NS-605 and NS-608 type, – 2000, pumping units ACHF-1000, receiving platforms for A-60RT, A-50M – 2001, a block for cleaning the disposal of drilling mud "BOBR", a complex of well equipment KOIS-5000 – 2002, pumping and circulation units ANC for a 70RT and HRI 300, Mobile coagulation and flocculation unit KFU-34 – 2003.

At the same time, further development of the geophysical equipment continued – serial production of vibrating sources of seismic signals SV-30/120M was started at the transport base of the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. In 2004, the company produced 23 units of vibrating sources with a pushing force of 20 to 30 tons.

All these measures not only allowed the company to survive, but also laid a solid foundation for further sustainable development, and most importantly made it possible to maintain a team of professionals.

In 2004, according to the state program, the company was transformed into Joint Stock Company "Seismotekhnika".

Due to successful cooperation with oil enterprises, the company was able to quickly master the production of a large range of oilfield equipment that meets all modern requirements.:

  • mobile drilling rigs g/p-125;
  • mobile units for repair and drilling of wells g/p 80-100 t;
  • drilling mud cleaning systems;
  • mobile power plants;
  • blocks of fuels and lubricants;
  • technological platforms;
  • other auxiliary equipment.

In 2008 – 2010 JSC "Seismotekhnika" was certified for compliance with the international systems ISO 9001-2009, ISO 14001-2005, ISO 18001-2009.

In 2011, the Italian company Drillmec S.p.A, a world leader in the production of oilfield equipment, became the owner of 19% of the shares of JSC "Seismotekhnika". This event opens a new stage in the company's development.

In 2013, the Italian company Drillmec S.p.A became the main shareholder (51% of shares) of JSC "Seismotekhnika".
